These Kitchen Maid cake tins harken back to a time when people would bake a tiered cake for a neighborhood pot luck or birthday party. The tin provided Kitchen Maid with a great advertising opportunity, as well. For anyone who has a vintage style kitchen, the decor is not complete without one of these tins gracing the shelves.
The finial on the lid is wood. It was made in Cleveland by Ballonoff and is embossed on the base. The date on the lid is partially concealed by the seam, but reads 1979.
The piece is approximately 7.25 inches high with an 11.5 inch diameter.
CONDITION: — The piece is in very good condition for display. The writing is legible and it has a very retro green, brown and orange colouration. — There are some scratches on the base from knives and utensils, some areas of rust on the gold interior of the lid especially around the seam. — Some fading to the exterior as evidenced by the lower edge of the lid being a slightly darker tone than the rest since it was sheltered by the groove on the base.
