1920s Glass Beaded Tunic on Crepe Silk, AT FAULT Holes and Shattering, For Historical Clothing Study or Display
This handmade crepe silk tunic with yellow glass seam beads dates from the 1920-30s. The piece has seen better days but is still fit to be displayed and gently worn. There is a matching sash bow that can serve as a belt or a headband. The hem is scalloped and has a high-low effect. There is beading around the neck (front and back) and around the scallops of the hem.
CONDITION: The heaviness of the beads have caused some shattering to the fabric where they are attached around the scallops of the hem, and there are small holes here and there all over the piece, but no large tears. There is some puckering at the neck where there may be a repair.
The piece fastens with snaps up both sides.
Please review all the pictures of the small holes.
