This old Majolica jug or pitcher features some lightly pink stained raised rose flowers and branches on either side. The background is brown with vertical lines. The handle is an elegant arching art deco style shape.
This piece has a lot of crazing lines inside and out and some cracks at the bottom. There is no flaking or chipping to the glaze and the piece feels very smooth to the touch. If the piece is kept dry and reserved for decor purposes only, the piece will continue to endure. Around the left side of the handle, there is also a vertical crack and a jagged shaped hole, under, and filled in by, the glaze. Since the glaze fills in these faults the piece is still structurally sound.
The piece is 5.5 inches tall and has a span of 4 inches from handle to spout. It holds 400 mL of water comfortably.
