This unusual vase or planter is designed in the shape of a flat-bottomed ice cream cone. It is quite heavy and stable because the walls of the piece are so thick. The piece is in excellent condition without any chips, cracks or crazing.
The piece playfully makes a bouquet or small plant look like the ice cream on top of the cone. It could easily be adapted to hold napkins, straws, spoons or act a a tip jar on the counter of an ice cream parlour.
The piece is 6 inches tall and almost 6 inches across the top.
The bottom of the piece is signed, Nell, suggesting the piece as a do-it-yourself ceramic piece popular in the early and mid 20th century.
