This beautiful impressionist style oil painting is by M.F. Kousal and depicts a wooden country fence along side a small stream in winter. The piece is titled, “The Early Winter” and is signed in the bottom left corner: “MFK 86”.
The painting is mounted in a 20 inch by 17 inch heavy wood frame with a linen matting. The exposed image measures 11.75 inches across and 8.5 inches high.
The back has a couple of details taped to its partially wood-reinforced backing which includes the title and date of the piece (1986), and a short biography of the artist. Also, the previous owner’s name is written in pen along one side.
