Pair of Signed and Titled Framed Ink Etchings of Ducks and Geese
These 2 small ink drawings have a special rustic charm in their mismatched frames. Each is signed by the artist and titled. “Heading South” shows a flock of geese in flight while a hunter/kayaker sits among the reeds. “Mallards” shows a flock of ducks in the midst of making awkward landings on the water. I cannot make out the stylized signature in the bottom corner or either picture, however, they definitively are by the same hand.
CONDITION:
— There are some small discolouration marks on the pieces indicated in the photos.
— On the “Mallards”, the left edge has some strokes of what looks like white paint that may be concealing other stains or marks.
— The framing of them looks like it is more to preserve the pieces rather than to display them. The pictures seem mounted in thin paper and then on backing on what just looks like everyday cardboard.
— The backing paper on the frames is glued to the edges. The nail heads are poking through in places.
— The frames are mismatched although they have roughly the same dimensions, one is thinner than the other.
DIMENSIONS:
The pictures are: 4 inches x 5.5 inches
The dimensions of the frames are:
— “Heading South” — 7 X 9 X 0.5 inches
— “Mallards” — 7 X 9 X 0.25 inches
