Quilt Topper, Canadian Centennial and Expo 67 Handmade Souvenir
This one of a kind quilt topper was painstakingly hand painted on thin 12X13-inch cotton squares. The squares show the provincial coat of arms of the Canadian Provinces and Territories at the time the piece was made in 1967, and other endearing Canadian symbols such as the Bluenose, a couple of mounted Mounties, the Expo’67 fairgrounds, the provincial flowers, and the Canadian cultural mosaic maple leaf.
The paint is permanent and the piece has been washed by hand without the colours running. There are a few places where the paint blended or transferred when the person painted it. The details from the tidy printed words to the stunning beaver surrounded by the provincial flowers.
There are a couple of small holes along the title at the top of the piece, but these can be easily repaired or secured if someone were to to finish binding and backing the piece.
Imagine the time and pride the person who created this invested in each panel.
The edges of the pieces are raw.
The piece is 51 inches X 79 inches
