This large double handled Hull Pottery vase features a yellow magnolia flower on one side and a pink but in the back. The opening is asymmetrical and measures 10.5 Inches to where the lowest gap between the asymmetrical petals meet by approximately 7 inches at its widest. The piece is marked faintly on the bottom. The piece is in good, usable condition without chips or cracks. There are some minor aesthetic faults that occurred during its manufacturing, or that are just signs of its age and use and may be off putting to certain collectors.
CONDITION:
The piece is without chips or cracks but does have some minor manufacturing faults and some signs of wear and use identified below and shown in the pictures. These faults are significantly accounted for in the price:
1. There is an area on the bottom of one of the yellow magnolia petals that did not get painted. It is glazed over, so occurred during production. However, when scrutinized it does somewhat look like a chip. 2. There is a small patch of shadowy veins underneath the glaze near one of the handles that could be the beginning of crazing. These lines are not noticeable unless scrutinized.
3. There are some transfer marks on the piece (small black line marks on the vase, a light brown stain around the rim perhaps from some organic matter).
4. There is a slightly grainy feel to the surface around the opening and around the handles that may be the glaze slightly deteriorating in these areas.
