This beautiful dress has wonderful hand stitched details and was obviously made and cared for after use with love. The dress has gathered net sleeves, a lace bodice over satin, and a raw edged net, satin-lined flared skirt. There is a metal zipper up the back. With a hook and eye clasp at the top (which probably should be replaced as it is rusty). Where the netting is gathered, there is a little row of faux pearls stitched across.
The dress is not lined, and is structured with panels of interfacing from the ribs past the hips.
The following measurements were taken across the dress with the garment flat as shown in some of the photos. The dress was zipped up at the time:
Overall Length: 57 inches
Shoulder to Shoulder: 15 inches
Pit to Pit: 15 inches
Waist 12 inches
Hips: 16 inches
There are SOME FAULTS with the dress due to its age and use and that the buyer should understand.
—- There is mild discolouration in places on the lacing (yellowing), but this does not stand out. There is a small hole in the lace that is shown in the pictures provided, but does not stand out either in the big picture . — The satin lining of the skirt has some dark spots occasionally and on the inside of the lining there ais a patch of something that looks like white glue or paint that won’t clean off.
—- The netting on the skirt also has an area with some untied off thread repairs.
— some jagged tears at the raw edge of the netting
None of these faults to the skirt are noticeable when you taken in the dress as a whole.
