This vintage portable shrine, measuring 6.5 inches, was a highly sought-after souvenir on the 1960s hippie trail. Its two hinged panels can be opened to expose a multitude of monks and buddhas inside. Made of resin, this product is expertly stained to mimic the appearance of wood.
The exterior is carved with characters and symbolic flowers. When the panels are closed, the piece has a 3 inch diameter.
The piece is in good condition, but does have a small hole on the outside created by an air bubble in the resin that leads into a small hairline crack on the inside (please see pictures). This fault does not really affect the piece’s integrity.
The bottom has a moulded chop mark.
This is a great piece for the person on the go or as a permanent fixture in one’s home shrine.
