This dark blue (near black) men’s coat is fully lined and looks so ready to challenge the cold of winter. As this is a bespoke piece tailored to a specific person, there are no fabric tags, but the fabric feels like a very velvety wool blend felt and appears to be woven. The coat has button closures down the front that are secured to interior buttons. 2 smaller matching decorative buttons on each cuff. The back of the coat has a single vent. There are minor signs of wear/repair detailed below. These faults are concealed from view and at all noticeable unless really scrutinized.
The piece was tailored for a well known American concrete supplier from the 1970s-80s, Edward J. Halleran. The labels on the lining include the order tag inside one of the interior breast pockets, the embroidered personalized name label and the tailoring label, “Taj Mahal’s/ Hilton Hotel/ 44 Hennessy Road/ Hong Kong Hotel Kowloon”.
