Constructed with reclaimed materials of card and wood, this exquisite jewellery box is delicately crafted using precisely arranged matchsticks (or small wood pieces) to produce a stunning visual pattern. The drawers feature card interiors instead of wood, making it important to avoid placing excessive weight on them. The drawer fronts are composed of wood and adorned with petite, brass-like handles. Topping off the box is a heart-shaped mirror.
There are no missing segments. On the backs of the drawers and the inside of the cabinet, one can see the marketing labels of the reclaimed cardboard used in the construction of the piece.
The piece is very stable and not at all rickety. The insides of the drawers were originally lined with stained yellow felt, but have since been replaced with black felt. As I have tried to show in the pictures, the structure of a couple of the drawers is not perfectly straight and there is some discolouration to the back of one of the drawers.
The piece is 12 inches tall to the top of the mirror, 10 inches across, and 5.5 inches deep.
