White Glass Souvenir Powder Jar or Trinket Dish, Souvenir of Eganville
This lovely pressed glass powder jar is made of opaque white glass and features beautiful raised scrollwork. Its handpainted decorations date back to the early 1900s and serve as a representation of the souvenir industry during that time. These charming items were popular among tourists and travelers, who often had them personalized with the names of the towns where they were purchased. They can be seen as the predecessors to modern-day mall kiosks and Etsy with their offerings of customizable items such as keychains, wallets and mugs.
The jar is in good condition for its age it has some extremely tiny flea bite chips around the edges and wear to the lid decoration and gold paint on the scrollwork as shown in the photos. There are also some manufacturing flaws inside the base in the form of scratches.
3.5 inches in diameter and 2.25 inches high.
